Empowering Families: New Programs for Second Stage Housing Residents

At SARA, we are committed to walking alongside women and families as they rebuild their lives after experiencing violence. This spring, we’re proud to introduce two new programs at our Second Stage Housing sites, both designed to support healing, strengthen parenting skills, and foster long-term stability.

Parenting with Confidence: A Six-Week Course

Launched in late April, this interactive course offers practical tools and guidance for navigating everyday parenting challenges. With the support of a skilled facilitator, participants will explore strategies to encourage cooperation, understand emotional behaviors, and build stronger, healthier relationships with their children.

When Love Hurts: A Trauma-Informed Support Group

Also launching this spring, this confidential group provides a supportive space for women who have experienced abuse in intimate partner relationships. Through shared experiences and trauma-informed facilitation, participants gain deeper insight into the patterns of abuse, reconnect with their inner strength, and build community through solidarity and mutual support.

These new programs reflect our ongoing commitment to holistic healing. We know that healing from violence is not just about safety,  it’s also about connection, confidence, and the tools to create a better future.

With each new session, each moment of insight, and each act of courage, our residents are laying the groundwork for lasting change for themselves and their families.

You can be part of that journey.

Your donation helps fund vital programs like these, offering women and children the chance to heal, grow, and thrive.
